Meet Dr. Peden

Dr. PedenDr. John Peden

Dr. Peden was born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. He received his dental degree from the University of Michigan, and he served as a dental officer in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1970. He returned to the University of Illinois where he received his orthodontic training. In 1972, he started his orthodontic practice in Orange Park, Florida.

Dr. Peden is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, Southern Society of Orthodontics, Florida Orthodontic Society, Florida Dental Association, Northeast Florida Dental Association and the Clay County Dental Association.

Dr. Peden has over 45 years of experience treating a wide range of difficult and complex orthodontic challenges. He has treated numerous orthognathic (jaw surgery) cases and provides non-surgical treatment for those suffering from temporomandibular dysfunction (TMJ). He specializes in Damon braces, which has allowed him to significantly eliminate the need for surgery or extraction in the most difficult of cases. Dr. Peden has also been able to help those diagnosed with sleep apnea with braces and/or oral appliances.

Dr. Peden and his wife, Sharron, have been married for over 47 years, and they have four children and seven grandchildren.

As of January 2018, Dr. Peden is fully retired and will no longer be seeing patients.
